you have to wonder why someone who considers herself a pretty good knitter, who knits 24/7 when able, who finds great peace and calm when knitting ---- chooses a crochet group as her first group to join in ravelry. granny squares no less! oh well, my swap partner seems very cool, so Ill see what I can dream up.

Why I pick up needles and hooks
knitting and crochetting just makes me feel good, at peace, connected -- my grandmother first taught me when I was 6, and i put my needles away for a long time , just picking them up when a project was needed. then my kids grew up and I found my hands empty -- no more noses to wipe and hands to hold. so I began to gather yarns and fibers -- and again I felt the joy i remembered sitting in the family room of my moms house as mom mom's needles clanked.
