spent much of the spare time this weekend working on my school sweater. (aka lion brand sweater jacket) Its coming along well, very very easy -- just knit knit knit.
it was kind of brainless, but its good prep for the upcoming school year and the myriad of projects that I have to get done before Christmas.

Why I pick up needles and hooks
knitting and crochetting just makes me feel good, at peace, connected -- my grandmother first taught me when I was 6, and i put my needles away for a long time , just picking them up when a project was needed. then my kids grew up and I found my hands empty -- no more noses to wipe and hands to hold. so I began to gather yarns and fibers -- and again I felt the joy i remembered sitting in the family room of my moms house as mom mom's needles clanked.
